Coronavirus and 2020

A year that starts strong ... under the sign of fear, recklessness, awareness, questioning our beliefs, disrupting our habits, restriction, confinement, 'imagination, sharing, communication, finding a cure to fight against this virus that forces us to put our knees to the ground, to bow our heads, to think about our world, to watch the population die, to call for discipline, to think of the collective good and not of personal interests ...

We don't know where this virus came from, animals, a creation of some humans in the lab in pursuit of specific economic interests?

What we do know is that it spreads and approximates, does not distinguish between races and is exported across the world because of each other's geographic movements.

We do not know how long it will take to eradicate this virus and finally regain our stolen freedom. Nature, on the other hand, slowly takes back her rights and reminds us that we are not taking good care of her. She gets a break, a new breath, she is reborn.

Many sick people are now cured but the economy is sluggish, businesses have had to close. Vulnerable people need to be extra vigilant. Indiscipline begins to be repressed. Because man is stubborn or continues to think that the risk is elsewhere even though he is everywhere.

This evil that attacks us is everywhere, crosses borders, carried by sick bodies. Plan for exceptional measures and rest assured that people will use exceptions to deviate from the rule.

Now is the time to realize that this is by no means a farce but a sad reality. If we are to beat the virus, we need to be aware of what is working, follow examples and take those same steps that have led to the recovery of patients.

Of course, all of this is only possible with the help and support of the authorities in each country. We must give ourselves the means to eradicate the evil. We need collective mobilization, of course, but the government has an important role to play. When one sees laxity or slowness in decision-making, it is very questionable. If the authorities treat the problem very lightly, how can we expect people to appreciate the gravity of the situation?

All these medical and nursing staff who take enormous risks and work hard to be with the sick, risking their own lives, and sometimes lacking the necessary protective equipment to protect themselves, we will never be able to thank them enough. Some have contracted the virus themselves and must now remain confined. Unfortunately, others did not survive the virus.

We are asked to wash our hands frequently and the sick are ordered to wear masks, but hydro-alcoholic solutions and masks were quickly out of stock. What to do in this case? The impossible no one is bound.

What is left for us to do?
Be patient with our troubles, strictly abide by the rules that are imposed on us for our safety and encourage others to follow the directives given by the authorities as well. Trust the healthcare professionals who may eventually find the miracle cure we've all been waiting for. Maintain morale and hope that this nightmare will soon be a bad memory of the past. Strengthen our immune system and take care of ourselves and our loved ones.
Eventually, everything will be fine. We believe in it. Believe it!
